If you are searching for mental health or substance abuse services for someone who is uninsured you might be able to find help from your local community services board. A community services board (CSB) is the single point of entry into publicly-funded mental health, mental retardation, and substance abuse services for its service area. CSBs provide pre-admission screening services 24-hours per day, 7 days per week.
To Find a Community Services Board Near You
The Virginia Department of Mental Health, Mental Retardation, and Substance Abuse Services offers an online-directory of community services boards. You can use the directory to find the community services board for your city or county.
When you get to the website, look in the middle of the page for a spot to enter your city or county name. Choose your place of residence from the list, then click submit to find the contact information for your local community services board.
